This program was developed for a 27 month old boy presenting with global developmental delay

Including neurological delay & (“mild-moderate mental retardation”), autism spectrum disorder

(severity not specified) who was a non-verbal, mute, drooling, hypotonic, tactilely defensive child.

 

If this description matches your child this will probably be a good starting place for you while you

line up ABA, OT, PT & Speech

Receptive Language Pictures - show each picture four times per trial. Start with 2 (dated) & add 2/day, 1/2 second per card saying object name, 30 max, remove oldest to maintain 30, date & put in "old pile", go thru "old pile" once per day

Directions with Modeling and Reinforcement - First Say "Kevin" & make request,  "Kevin" model, "Kevin"  help him do it. Create list: Touch Nose, Pat Tummy, (2-4 items per day).

His Firm Suggestion: No more sign language. But for now we are going to keep it but not reinforce it unless it is accompanied by a verbal attempt.
