PST question from chelatingkids2 answered:
Dear Erin:
When you see cheeks &/or ears flaming red generally it
means they ran out of the PST enzyme for the day (too
many phenols in the form of external exposures
-anything they smell or have on their skin), stuff
they take in (the phenols in the red dye on the
Valtrex cap) or what is most common for my son is when
we push detox/kill pathogens past his ability to
methylate the debris that is left behind. What are you
doing for methylation...we utilize the Vinitsky
Protocol for our son. (Dr Klinghardt has found it very
effective as well) http://www.defeatautismyesterday.com/drvinitskypaper.htm
I copied this from site... http://www.defeatautismyesterday.com/Coreissues.htm
PST (Phenol-SulfoTransferase Enzyme
Deficiency)
(potentially more than 80% - Dr. Rosemary Waring)
“He” is poisoned by his own metabolic waste &
food/environment phenols.” –Willis
Symptoms of PST
Thirst is excessive
Night sweats
Bedding smells weird
Eyes have dark shadows
Cheeks & Ears are occasionally red
Treatment of PST:
Avoid Environmental Toxins (requires this enzyme)
Avoid Tylenol (disables this enzyme further)
Avoid Salicilates & Phenols=(require this enzyme)
Feingold Diet/Sara’s diet (reduces need for this
enzyme)
Glycine (helps w/ high serotonin) (increases bile)
(glycinated minerals help)
Epsom Salt Bath
Glucosamine (be careful can produce Glutamine which is
excitotoxic)
Condroitin Sulfate
Taurine
Glutathione (transdermal/IV/oral has some gut healing
benefit)
MSM
NAC (low dose)
ALA (low dose)
Detox: sauna, hot bath, massage, moderate exercise,
outdoor barefoot play
Bottom Line: you have to start each day with as much
of this enzyme as you can (clean room environment for
sleep including bed at least three feet from all
electrical sources, nothing they can smell, 100%
natural sleepwear, darkness vs. lit, quiet), have
methylation support on board before you kill pathogens
& increase as necessary. Watch closely & when
cheeks/ears start to get red 1.) down regulate all
neurological stimulation (go home to quiet environment
in blue vs white light 2.) Epsom Salt bath 3.)
Vinitsky Protocol dose - avail thru Melanie where you
get the TD-DMPS & she can also make a dye free gelcap
Valtrex! 4.) No more phenols for the day...NO SMELLS
(if still need dose of meds in gelcaps - remove from
cap - always a good idea when possible anyway)
list of phenols in foods: http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/Food/Salicylate.html
Once you start the day with no red cheeks & finish it
that way you have succeeded in down-regulating the
system enough that PST was probably available to
handle the job for the day!
Hope this helps & Good Luck! Dana
