Rotation Diet Principals

1.)      7 vs. 4 vs. 2 day rotation:

2-Day Rotation (least effective, but extremely effective compared to no rotation at all!!!

IMPORTANT:

AT MINIMUM YOU SHOULD NOT EAT THE SAME FOOD GROUPS 2 DAYS IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your choice is to just do GF/CF or GF/CF +corn/soy/sugar/riceFree or GF/CF +SCD only & are not ready, willing or able to do the DAY Protocol Diet (or the SpecialFoods) than at MINIMUM ROTATE EVERY OTHER DAY!!!!!

This advice came strongly from the IMMUNOLABS Rep at the DAN 2003 Portland booth. (As a MINIMUM NOT AN IDEAL!!!!!!)

This is especially true if you have been GF/CF for a while and are just now embarking on the SCD (no polysaccharides) plan. You will end up using Almond Flour every day right out of the gate & in no time at all your child will develop a sensitivity to it, which begins to erode the otherwise incredible benefit of the SCDiet.

So before you make any changes take the time to develop a plan of action calendar. There are many ways to do this, and have available resources at your disposal. Pretty much any recipe that lists Almond Flour can be made with any organic nut flour (some do not pulverize in the Cuisinart to as small of a particle, so you will need a stickier base to get them to hold together: i.e. over-ripe bananas, mangos, papayas, pears, persimmons, etc.). Note: I have never used egg or sweetener of any kind in my son’s baked (dehydrated) goods & he will eat most with nut butter on them.

4-Day Rotation (Immunolabs suggested for typical population)

This is the typical/classic suggestion by doctors & labs attempting to reduce sensitivities to foods in the typical, just marginally immuno-compromised population. It has obviously provided results, & I believe will provide results in these children too. The question is what percentage of these kids can work off this foundation (possibly with continued sensitivity, just to a lesser degree) and with other interventions calm the immune system enough that it goes from chaos to order. I am not willing to take the risk. I also found a 7-Day Rotation easier once I got started. Also, if you ask any Immunologist/Allergist he/she will tell you {antibodies to sensitive substances peak 4 days after exposure/ingestion. EEEEEK!!!!!! The same day you are re-introducing it}, and then dissipate…but how much, over how many days, & is that in the typically sensitive population, what about in our oh-so-not-typical…..YET!!!!…kids???? I would guess, but do not have confirmation, their clearing of antibodies is slower, over a longer period, possibly even peaking later (day 5 or 6)…and where does that leave us…

7-Day Rotation (SpecialFoods.com suggested for Severely Immuno-Compromised/Autistic)

I believe from my personal experience with my son, and from interviewing numerous clients of SpecialFoods that this is a Foundational piece of the Puzzle that is Autism!

It can however possibly be accomplished without doing the grueling specialfoods program. Click here for our story. You can buy your “complex carbs” – (not sure about SCD adherence, but know she has great results)at Francis Simun Bakery (website is under construction) Phone # (214) 741-4242…Note: the Frozen Bagels are 1/2 price when available (still pricey, but less) Make sure you overnight them to avoid mold. I have however forgotten to do this and have “peeled” them to use them anyway.

Most of the oils are available at Whole Foods (Flax & Hemp Oil/Butter are in the supplement cooler & must be kept refrigerated) All should/can be for that matter. Harder to find ones @ Selectoils.com & he will put them in glass bottles upon request (shipping is more $). Will finish soon…see DAY Diet Protocol…until then.
